Crop Genetic Resources Diversity and Sustainable Agriculture in Yunnan Province

Yunnan is rich in natural crop germplasm resources. There are more than 500 species of cultivated plant grown in Yunnan province, 10?819 accessions of them have been collated in Chinese Crop Germplasm Resources Information System, account for 5.65 percent of the national resources. More than 20?000 accessions of crop genetic resources have been collected and concerved in Yunnan Academy of Agriculture Sciences and lots of related studies have been done in recent years. We have found a way to make full use of our crop genetic resources to achieve a sustainable agriculture in Yunnan province. That's to do our utmost to protect the crop diversity, develop new crop or new varieties and widen the genetic basis of crop varieties.
