The application of Montreal cognitive assessment Scale (Changsha version) in diagnosis of elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment

Objective To explore Montreal Cognitive Assessment(Changsha version)feasibility of screening for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment and its truncated value.Methods 225 patients of clinical diagnosis for MCI and 213 cases of patients with normal cognitive function were assessed cognitive function with MoCA Changsha version and mini-mental state examination(MMSE).Results The total score of MoCA(18.72±2.19)and MMSE(21.52±2.00)of MCI group were lower than that of the normal cognitive function group(P0.01).The best cutoff value of MoCA was 22.The sensitivity and specificity were 93% and 94%.Conclusion MoCA Changsha version has a high value of screening MCI.The optimal cutoff value is 22.
