A Model to be Used for Monitoring the Wear of Boiler Economizers

A model to be used for monitoring the wear of economizers has been built for raising the operational safety of boiler economizers and reduce their failure rate. The maximal present wear of economizer tubes can be ascertained with model calculation by using the measured inlet temperature of the economizer,the coal feeding rate and oxygen content in the flue gas.In addition,a strategy of correction,according to changes of actual conditions,is provided.According to monitoring results it can be determined whether the wear of the economizer tubes has surpassed safety limits.Further wear can also be predicited and thus serve as a reference for making scheduled maintenance decisions based on predictions.Figs 3,table 1 and refs 9.
