Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) is the common reason of chronic cough. In this paper,20 patients with suspected gastroesophageal reflux-related chronic cough(GERC) were treated with empirical anti-reflux therapy. The treatment protocol included omeprazole(20 mg bid) and Mosapride(5mg tid) for 4 weeks. The result showed that the cough in 16 patients was obviously alleviated after one-week treatment, and the cough in 8 patients disappeared in follow-up of 12 patients after four-week treatment. The suspected GERC patients should receive empirical anti-reflux therapy with priority.
