Flexible Paper Substrate with Silver Dendrites for Trace Detection of Dye and Explosive Molecules using SERS

We present here our work on low cost, flexible filter paper substrate with silver dendrites for trace detection of Rhodamine 6G and an explosive molecule, picric acid using surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with silver dendrites. We have synthesized silver dendrites by a simple method of electroless deposition. With the advantage of these highly branched structures, we could detect R6G and Picric Acid of concentrations 1 pM and100 nM, respectively.
