摘要
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a federal government department within the US Department of Health and Human Services responsible for guaranteeing the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary pharmaceuticals, biological products, and medical devices to protect public health. The agency also ensures the safety of the food supply, cosmetics, and radiation-emitting items in the United States. Even though it contributes significantly to the global disease burden, the pharmacological treatment for numerous central nervous system (CNS) disorders in animals and humans remains problematic. The FDA is in charge of overseeing a wide range of food and medicinal items. "The product's advantages outweigh the recognized hazards for the intended use," the FDA said. To receive clearance for a product, manufacturers must submit a premarket approval (PMA) application along with the findings of clinical testing. The CNS and the peripheral nervous system are the two primary elements of the nervous system. The brain and spinal cord make up the CNS, representing the body's processing center.
