Questioning the role of adsorbed H in H 2 O 2 decomposition on Pt(111) for the electrocatalytic green Fenton process

We challenge the main view that surface-H* mediates H 2 O 2 decomposition, showing that it hinders the process by raising the activation barrier. Instead, we reveal the key role of surface H 2 O, enabling rational catalyst design.
