Development of Low Melting Point Filler Metal for Brazing Al Alloys

According to the problems of Al alloy brazing filler metals with high melting point,three kinds of filler metal were developed on the basis of HL401,and the spreadability and DTA tests were performed.The results show that the wettability of L1 brazing filler metal on LF2 aluminum alloy is good.The solidus temperature and liquidus temperature are from 483.6℃ to 491.7℃.The joints shear performance testing results show that L1 filler metal can be used to braze LF2 aluminum alloy at 520℃ and the strength of the welded joint is higher,which can reach 96.43 MPa;when the brazing temperature is 540℃ and the bonding time is 10 min,the shear strength of the welded joint is highest,which can reach 103.57 MPa.
