Thin film transistors (TFTs) using organic semiconductors as the active material are of interest for a number of applications such as data storage, integrated circuit and sensors. Especially, organic light-emitting display may become a new kind of display, and its economic benefit has great attraction. The key of all-organic active matrix displays is organic TFT. Among them, pentacene TFT occupies a dominant position. The structure and principle of the pentacene thin-film transistor are presented as well as the review of the progress for the organic electronic devices, and the prospect of their application is forecasted.
