The ketalization of cyclohexanone with glycerol by using SO3H functioned ionic liquids as catalysts were studied.The effects of reaction time,mole ratio of reactants and amount of catalyst on yield of ketal were investigated by using the[SO3H-bPy]ionic liquid as catalyst.Results show that the ionic liquid was an efficient catalyst for the ketalization with high conversion and selectivity in mild conditions.Using[SO3H-bPy]as catalyst,the optimum reaction condition:molar ratio of cyclohexanone to glycerol was 1 ∶1.5,catalyst amount was 0.1 g/1 mol ketone,reaction time was 2 h.Under that condition,conversion was over 99.8% and selectivity was 100%.
