Preparation of vegetable oil based polyols and their applications in polyurethane adhesives

As petroleum is rapidly consumed and unrenewable,researchers and governments are focusing their attention on the modification of vegetable oil,which is an environmentally friendly,relative cheap and renewable resource.The two methods for the synthesis of vegetable oil based the epoxidation followed by ring-opening method and the carbonylation followed by hydrogenation reduction,were reviewed,and the applications of vegetable oil based polyols in polyurethane adhesives were briefly introduced.
