A new species of Villa , V. gymnancylax sp. nov. (Bombyliidae: Anthracinae, Villini), from southern Iran, with pupal case morphology

The genus Villa Lioy, 1864 (Bombyliidae: Villini) is a species-rich genus in the Palaearctic Region and is represented in Iran by eighteen species. A new species, Villa gymnancylax sp. nov., is described from central Iran. Diagnostic morphological characters, including male and female genitalia, are illustrated. The new species was reared from a pyralid moth host.
