Objective:To evaluate the FQ-PCR detection of Treponema pallidum DNA in syphilis with pregnancy for the early diagnosis of congenital syphilis. Methods:The Treponema pallidum DNA in 13 placentas of induced labor were detected by FQ-PCR amplification and results were analysed. Results:Treponema pallidum DNA were positive in 6(46.5%) out of the 13 placentas. Among those 6 positive, two had received treatment of recommended regimens and the other fours were not. Conclusion:It was concluded that detection of Treponema pallidum DNA by FQ-PCR might be one of the useful method in the diagnosis of early congenial syphilis. The study results indicated that the syphilis transmission to fetus through placentas may happen during the pregnancy both with and without effective treatment.[
