Comparative analysis of levetiracetam and oxcarbazepine in treating of children with epilepsy

Objective To compare the clinical efficacy between levetiracetam and oxcarbazepine in treating children epilepsy. Methods A total of 81 cases pediatric patients with epilepsy in our hospital from June 2011 to June 2012 were divided into OXC group(41 cases,were given oxcarbazepine)and LEV group(40 cases,were given levetiracetam), the efficacy of two groups were compared. Results There was no statistically significant difference of the efficacy between two groups(P0.05);The incidence of complications in LEV group was lower than that in OXC group(P0.05). Conclusion Both levetiracetam and oxcarbazepine have good curative effect in treating children epilepsy,but the levetiracetam has higher security.
