Clinical Observation of Combining Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on Treating Senile Chronic Functional Constipation

Objective: To observe the effect of combining traditional Chinese and western medicine on treating elderly patients with chronic functional constipation.Methods: 100 cases of elderly patients with chronic functional constipation were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,each group had 50 cases.The treatment group was administrated with oral Mosapride and Buzhong Yiqi Decoction;the control group treated with oral Mosapride only.Results: After treatment,there had significant difference(P0.05) about the first defecation time,frequency of bowel movements per week clinical efficacy between the treatment group and the control group,the treatment group was significantly better than the control group.Conclusion: The combination of traditional Chinese and western medicine on treating senile chronic functional constipation has curative effect.
