Adakite and porphyry copper deposit

Porphyry copper deposit is closely associated with adakites and the superlarge sized ones are usually related to the O type adakites formed by melting of the slab. However,porphyry copper deposits in China are mainly associated with C type adakites. Adakite hence is a new exploration indicator stimulative to further finding of large or superlarge sized porphyry copper deposits. It is concluded that potential excellent exploration areas for porphyry copper deposit in China are the North China orogenic belt,East Jilin and Heilongjiang Province and Gandise orogenic belt.
