Design of Storage Winch for Deep Water Pipe Laying Devices

AR winch consist of a storage winch and a double-drum friction winch,which apply to deploying and retreating pipeline for deepwater or ultra deepwater pipe laying vessel.The storagewinch is used in storage the cable.It consists of motor,reducer,gear drive,storage roller,sprocket drive,aligning steel rope device,frame and so on.According to design requirement,this paper the motor and reducer was selected,gear drive and sprocket drive was designed,which made the structure and strength design of storage winch and aligning steel rope device.The storage winch which is designed can use in 3000 meter pipe laying vessel.It can also be applicable for storage 3500 meter cable that diameter is 116 millimeter.
