Hybrid photopolymerization technique was an important method to optimise the photocuring system by overcoming the drawbacks and combining the merits of the separate photopolymerization systems. It might be consisted of free radical/cationic monomers or cationic/cationic monomers in one system.Hybrid systems or blend system formed by mixing acrylates, vinyl ethers, epoxy resins, and some hybrid monomers synthesized by our lab, respectively. The photopolymerization kinetics of these different hybrid systems was studied and the effect of hydroxyl compounds was performed as well. The results indicated that the mix-hybrid systems had rapid curing rate and high conversion and were easily influenced by environment. However, the effect of environment factors on photopolymerization of hybrid monomer system was decreased because of unique cuing mechanism of hybrid monomer system.
