Objective To analyze the incidence of phlebitis caused by PICC via basilic vein and cephalic vein in the 75 cases. Methods A total of 75 cases received the PICC catheter were randomly divided into 2 groups. In the test group,38 patients received the PICC catheter via basilic vein.However,37 patients received the PICC catheter via cephalic vein in the control group. The body pose, catheter, puncture time and nurse are similar in the all patients. Results The incidence of phlebitis is 5.26% in the test group.Contrastly,it is 21.62% in the control group. The incidence of phlebitis in the test group is remarkably lower than the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion Inserting PICC catheter via cephalic vein can significantly decrease the incidence of phlebitis.
