A Review of Infecting Approaches of Rice Blast Fungus Magnaporthe grisea

Rice blast fungus Magnaporthe grisea undergoes a series of well-defined developmental steps during leaf infection,including the formation of penetration structures(appressoria).This paper reviews the recent advance and finding that this fungus can undergo a set of typical root-infecting processes.The differences in infecting mechanisms between root and leaf infecting approaches are compared.Potential impact of root infecting approach is discussed.
