ChemInform Abstract: Comparative Study of the Catalytic Properties and Deactivation of Supported and Unsupported Nickel for Liquid Phase Hydrogenation.

Abstract Ni/Al2O3 catalysts are prepared by impregnation of alumina with a solution of anhydrous NiBr2 in THF followed by reduction with EtMgBr at 20 °C. The catalytic activity of these catalysts for liquid phase hydrogenation (hexene‐1, cyclohexene, hexyne, benzene) is found to be higher than that of unsupported Ni prepared by the same method.
