Incertae sedis

Toxothrix was previously assigned to the “ Crenotrichaceae ”. However, subsequent analyses transferred Crenothrix to the Proteobacteria . Phylogenetic analyses suggest that Toxothrix is only distantly related to any of the previously described orders within the Bacteroidetes . In view of its ambiguous status, it has been assigned to its own order incertae sedis . Bacteroidetes / Cytophagia / Incertae sedis IV
