Matching the Performance of a New Pickup Tube to the TK-47 Camera

A new pickup tube that is uniquely applicable to the TK-47 camera has been developed. It offers significant improvements in camera performance. Recent and continuing advances in pickup tube technology now make practical a novel mode of pickup tube operation that results in decreased lag, increased signal-to-noise ratio, improved geometry and registration, and more uniform resolution. These improvements have been confirmed in a series of tests carried out using developmental tubes of this new type in a TK-47 camera.
