Adsorption of four kinds of phenolic compounds,such as phenol,p-cresol,p-(nitrophenol) and α-naphthol on carbon nanotubes has been studied at 20℃.The adsorption isotherms were determined and their amount adsorbed were compared individually.It was found from the experiment that α-naphthol was adsorbed easiliest while phenol was adsorbed least.The adsorption of p-cresol and p-nitrophenol was also superior to phenol.An evaluation of Freundlich and Langmuir equations indicated that Langmuir equation was better for p-cresol and α-naphthol while Freundlich equation was better for p-nitrophenol.
