Distributional Characteristics of 546 Hypertension Patients' Carotid Atherosclerosis and Correlation's Exploration of TCM Syndrome Types with Carotid Atherosclerosis

Objective: To study the distributional characteristics of carotid atherosclerosis by essential hypertension patients and correlation of TCM syndrome types with carotid atherosclerosis.The purpose is to prevent and control integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine,providing certain target organs' damage.Methods: BP,age,sex,body height and weight,associated medical history and TCM symptoms were collected.TCM syndromes were differentiated by the four diagnostics by a Chinese medical director physician and two TCM physicians.Carotid ultrasound was detected at the same time.And then we analyzed the data by using factor analysis,Logistic regression analysis and so on.Results:(1) Non-elderly patients' group and elderly patients' group had significant statistics differences(P 0.01).There was no statistics differences between men' s group and women' s group(P 0.05).2.In four common TCM syndrome types,the distribution of carotid atherosclerosis were all more than 70%.Yang hyperactivity type(82.40%) Yin-Yang deficiency(80.15%) stagnation of phlegm-dampness type(73.53%) Yin deficiency Yang hyperactivity type(71.14%).The carotid atherosclerosis of Yang hyperactivity type and Yin deficiency Yang hyperactivity type had statistics differences(P 0.05).There was no statistics differences between clip stasis group and non-clip stasis' group(P 0.05).Clip phlegm's group and non-clip phlegm's group had statistical differences(P 0.05).3.By the Logistic regression analysis,vertigo,tinnitus is positively correlated with carotid sclerosis(P 0.05).Conclusion: In all kinds of common TCM syndrome types,the distribution of carotid atherosclerosis are all more than 70%.The patients of Yang hyperactivity type are more likely to have carotid atherosclerosis.The elderly patients and clip phlegm patients are easy to have carotid atherosclerosis.The occurrence rate of the carotid atherosclerosis patients with vertigo and tinnitus is increasing.
