Detection of Anti-α toxin Levels in Rabbits Serum through Inhibition Experiment of Lecithin-toxin Hydrolytic Reaction

When α toxin is neutralized by the anti-α toxin, there will be no lecithin-toxin hydrolytic reaction longer. According to this, a new inhibition experiment of lecithin-toxin hydrolytic reaction was established to detect the anti-α toxin levels in rabbits.This new method could be applied to detect the anti-α toxin levels in different blood samples.The results of the experiment were clearly when anti-toxin neutralized α-toxin totally.The minimum antibody which could be detected was about equal to that neutralizing α-toxin with 1/64 MLD,optimal time for neutralization being 30 min.Because of simple operation,economical mater-ials and better sensitivity and accuracy,this new method will be used widely than neutralization experiment on mouse.
