The Optimized Design Scheme for Turbine-driven Induced Draft Fan

In order to reduce auxiliary power consumption and improve the unit efficiency, a scheme is proposed that the steam turbine is used to drive the induced draft fan (IDF). An analysis is conducted on the design of two systems in which back pressure stream turbine and condensing turbine are adopted respectively. Based on the phase-3 Huaneng Qinbei Power Plant, two steam-driven and motor-driven schemes are compared in terms of technology and economy and some conclusions are achieved, which can provide a reference for relevant engineering design.
