Vegetation Index and Its Advances

Spectral reflectance characteristic of vegetation was introduced. The advantage and disadvantage of several vegetation indexes in common use were summarized.The characteristics of vegetation monitoring by using MODIS sensor and the two NASA vegetation indexes products and their shortage were indicated.The importance of studying on MODIS vegetation indexes in Northwest China was presented.
