Study on Fishing Gear and Fishing Method and Fishing Performance about Tuna Longline in the High Sea of North Atlantic Ocean

At present, longline fishing is the main method in the tuna fishery in China. Based on the fieldwork about tuna longline in the area of the North Atlantic Ocean(1° N-6° N,18° W-24° 32′ W)from September 2009 to February 2010, the author investigated fishing gear, fishing method and so on in the vessel XIN SHI JI 80. At the same the performance of the fishing gear was analyzed primary. Hoping that will provide a reference to tuna long-line in the region for future.
