Objective To determine the content of ursolic acid and oleanolic acid in Baihuasheshecao (Herba Hedyotis diffusae) produced from different places and collected at different time by HPLC.Method The HPLC procedure was performed on the chromatographic column of Lichrospher C18 (250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm),and the mobile phase was MeOH-2% HAC(88:12).The detection wavelength was 210 nm,temperature was 30 ℃,flow velocity was 1.0 mL/min,and sample size was 10 μL.Result Ursolic acid showed a good linear relationship at the range from 0.126 μg to 4.030 μg (r=0.999 93) and the average recovery was 97.45% (RSD=1.74%).Oleanolic acid showed a good linear relationship at the range from 0.026 μg to 0.820 μg (r=0.999 91) and the average recovery was 97.10% (RSD=1.30%).Baihuasheshecao collected at October from Kunshan had the highest content of ursolic acid and oleanolic acid,that from Jiangxi,less,and from 3 places in Jiangsu,higher and good.The content of them were higher in Baihuasheshecao collected at October than those at July,so the collection time could be set at October.Conclusion The method is easy and accurate with higher repeatability,which can be the base of quality control for further development and use of Baihuasheshecao.
