Objective:To observe the clinical effect of sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia in children undertaking day ophthalmic surgery. Methods:Sixty cases undertaking day ophthalmic surgery, aged 6 months to 24 months, were randomly divided into sevoflurane inhalation anaesthesia group(sevoflurane group)and ketamine anesthesia group(ketamine group).Sevoflurane inhalation or ketamine intramuscular injection were used for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. The mean arterial pressure(MAP),heart rate(HR),respiratory frequency(R)and pulse oxygen saturation(SpO2)during anesthesia were recorded. The consciousness extinction time, consciousness recovery time and sojourn time in post anesthesia care unit(PACU)were recorded. The side-effect during ansesthesia was investigated. Results:The MAP decreased gently in sevoflurane group. However,The MAP and HR markedly rised in ketamine group. The consciousness extinction time, consciousness recovery time and sojourn time in PACU in sevoflurane group were obviously shorter than those in ketamine group.Less excitation, restlessness and secretion happened in sevoflurane group. Conclusion:Sevoflurane inhalation anesthesia could be used for day pediatric ophthalmic surgery.
