Research and Development of Alternative Resources of Bentonite Additive for Iron Ore Pelletizing

Direct toward the production situation of using single additive—bentonite during the course of iron ore pelletizing,a series of experimental research works were carried out to develop alternative resources of bentonite additive for iron ore pelletizing,and a novel pelletizing additive—RECT is developed.The test results indicated that RECT additive not only can meet the requirements of industrial production for pellet quality indexes,but also its dosage is only about a half compared with the bentonite.Furthermore,it can effectively reduce decline of pellet iron grade caused by higher dosage of bentonite.Thus,it is a suitable alternative resource of bentonite additive.
