STUDY ON THE COLOUR REACTION OF CRYSTAL VIOLET-HETEROPOLY MOLYBDOPHOSPORIC ACID-POLYVINYL ALCOHOL AND ITS APPLICATION

In the medium of sufuric acid,the ion associates of heteropoly molybdophosporic acid with crystal violet can be scattered and stabilized by polyvinyl alcohol.A new method for the spectrophotometric determination of phosphorus in water phase has been explored.Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0 to 12 μg/25 mL of phosphorus.The method has been applied to the determination of micro amount of phosphorus in iron sample with satisfactory result.
