LETHAL EFFECT OF DIFFERENT TREATMENT TEMPERATURES ON TRIBOLIUM CASTANEUM(HERBST)

In this paper,we studied the lethal effect of different treatment temperatures(35 ℃,45 ℃,55 ℃,60 ℃ and 65 ℃)on the adults,pupae and larvae of Tribolium castaneum(Herbst) in wheat flour by water bath heating for different times(60 s,75 s,90 s,105 s and 120 s).The results showed that the lethal effects of the different treatment temperatures and different treatment times on the adults,pupae and larvae of T.castaneum had significant difference.At 35 ℃ and 45 ℃,treatment time had no influence on the normal development of the adults,pupae and larvae of T.castaneum.The temperature higher than 55 ℃ had strong lethal effect on the adults,pupae and larvae of T.castaneum.For the treatment at 65 ℃,the mortality of the adults reached 100% after treatment for more than 60 seconds,100% pupae could be suppressed from developing into adults after treatment for 75 seconds,and the larvae could be completely suppressed from developing into adults after treatment for 90 seconds.
