The class-F power amplifier(PA)is a high-efficiency amplifier, whose theoretical efficiency can achieve 100%. It is widely used in wireless communication field and has a broad prospect. The basic theory of the class-F power amplifier is introduced and its efficiency is analyzed. A high-efficiency class-F power amplifier with input and output harmonic control was designed. The simulation result shows that the maximum power-added-efficiency(PAE)of 74% with 38 dBm output power can be achieved at 1 GHz,and under the same condition,it is better than class-B power amplifier in both PAE and output power.
