Synthesis of the tricyclic skeleton of aberrarone

Here, we report a synthetic study of aberrarone. Through an intermolecular Diels–Alder reaction and a cross-coupling–isomerization–intramolecular Alder–ene cyclization cascade the tricyclic skeleton of the natural product was prepared.
