Patients in hemodialysis have a higher risk of death from cardiovascular disease, occurring due to the presence of risk factors such as dyslipidemia. To evaluate the association between abdominal obesity and dyslipidemia in patients undergoing hemodialysis program. A crosssectional study, with individuals over 19 years belonging to the hemodialysis program of Integrative Medicine Institute Professor Fernando Figueira (Recife-PE), between March and October 2015. Anthropometric indicators and biochemical used to assess the nutritional status and for the diagnosis of dyslipidemia. We evaluated 41 patients with a mean age of 48.75 years (± 16.7), in which 85, 4 % were diagnosed with dyslipidemia, mainly low levels of HDL-C (80, 5 %). It was not observed association between the dyslipidemia and presence abdominal obesity. the high prevalence of dyslipidemia in the population is not associated with distribicao body fat.
