A novel ultra long-acting bronchodilator——indacaterol

Indacaterol is a novel fast-onset, long-acting β2-agonist. Sufficient evidences from preclinical and clinical studies have shown that indacaterol provides effective bronchodilation for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma. It has a fast-onset of action (within 5 min), which can sustain for 24 hours on once-daily dosing. Moreover,it showed a good safety profile and was seldom associated with the systemic side-effects.
