Satellite Constellation Stationing Effects on Communication Networks

Satellite constellations are of utmost importance nowadays, since Earth is `inch-by-inch' spanned in terms of communication. Depending on factors such as intended recipients of the service or capability and communication type required, satellite constellation deployment requirement varies. Satellite coverage and the resulting ground tracks are calculated using the type of the selected orbit while assessing conditions for deployment of the satellite constellation. For communication satellites, different types of primary orbits include Molniya orbit, low (Polar and Non-Polar) Earth orbit, geostationary Earth orbit (GEO), and the other elliptical orbits. This research assesses the benefits of every distinct satellite orbit, its overall area of coverage, and the correlated effects on satellite communication networks.
