Cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) conditions, such as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD), chronic kidney disease, and type 2 diabetes, are widespread and leading causes of death among U.S. adults. To inform clinical, research, and policy interventions to address these overlapping conditions, the American Heart Association introduced a novel staging construct, termed CKM syndrome. Recent studies have estimated that ∼90% of U.S. adults have poor CKM health.
