摘要
This study investigates the impact of stabilizing molten salt chemistry on the corrosion behavior of four steel types at temperatures ranging from 570 °C to 620 °C. The research explores the influence of temperature and gas atmosphere on corrosion mechanisms through detailed analysis of molten salt, corrosion rates, and microstructures. Findings reveal that systematic changes in salt chemistry can modify mass transport mechanisms, enabling the development of corrosion mitigation strategies even at extreme temperatures. This discovery marks a significant breakthrough in the advancement of Solar Salt-based storage systems for high-temperature applications, facilitating the utilization of renewable energy sources.
