Interpenetrating double network silicone hybrid aerogels with excellent mechanical properties and thermal stability for high-temperature insulation

A facile secondary sol–gel process creates robust, double-network silicone aerogels with strong chemical bonding between the two networks. The resulting materials exhibit both exceptional mechanical strength and superior high-temperature insulation.
