摘要
This work proposes a novel hollow-core antiresonant fiber (HC-ARF) that provides low loss in the terahertz region. The fiber has a hollow core with four elliptical and circular ring cladding tubes. The investigation was carried out for a frequency band of 0.5-2.8 THz using the COMSOL multiphysics tool with Zeonex as background material. This fiber gives a low propagation loss (PL) of 2.3×10 -5 dBcm -1 , minimal confinement loss (CL) of 3.71×10 -6 dBcm -1 , and effective material loss (EML) of 1.93×10 -5 dBcm -1 . Also, the fiber provides a larger higher-order mode extinction ratio (HOMER) of 220 and a broad near-zero flat dispersion bandwidth of 1.1 THz.
