摘要
van der Waals heterostructures (vdWHs) established on the emerging two-dimensional (2D) materials bring about fresh heterostructures that exhibit novel features, which create an alternative way to integration at the atomic level. The development of those heterostructures with higher photoelectric conversion efficiency thereof sets up a colossal market demand for the next-generation optoelectronic devices. This section focuses on the state-of-the-art research activities on the 2D vdWHs and their potential optoelectronic applications including light-emitting diodes, photodetectors, and optical modulators, with a brief discussion on their operating principles.
