摘要
Abstract Crystal engineering is the bottom‐up construction of functional materials from the assembly of molecular or ionic components. The discipline bridges supramolecular and solid‐state science. Crystal engineering is highly interdisciplinary and spans across all traditional sectors of chemistry (organic, inorganic, organometallic, biological chemistry). Beside the conventional tools of molecular and supramolecular synthetic chemistry, crystal engineering requires the utilization of solid‐state and solid–gas techniques, including theoretical and advanced crystallography methods.
