Caudal Peduncle Tag Used for Identification of Individual Small Fishes

Two locations for the placement of identification tags on rainbow cichlids (Herotilapia multispinosa) were compared. Placing the tag through the caudal peduncle resulted in less physical damage and longer tag retention than placing the tag through the head musculature.
