Progress in study of synthesis of polylactide

Poly(lactic acid) (poly lactide,PLA)isa biocompatible and bioresorbable polymer,thus it is widely used in the medical area,and is paid much attention to.There are two main methods to synthesis PLA,ring- open- ing polymerization of lactide and condensation polymerization of lactic acid.In the paper,the process of the new re- search of the synthesis PLA was reviewed.Beside,the PLA synthesis methods of reactive extrusion and direct melting polycondensation were introduced,which are two high efficiency methods.Finally,the foreground of PLA synthesis was prospected.
