Advance in Research on Plant Somatic Embryogenesis

Somatic embryogenesis is a very popular phenomenon in plant tissure culture. This article reviews the recent progress in plant somatic embryogenesis, including the morphologic characters and morphogenetic process of SE, the effects of phytohormones on formation of somatic embryo (SE), physiological and biochemical changes in somatic embryogenesis and the expression of genes related to somatic embryogenesis.
