摘要
Keggin-type polyoxometalates, [PW12O40]3− and [PMo12O40]3−, are shown to act as highly effective oxygen evolution reaction molecular catalysts in photoelectrochemical water splitting devices. This is the first example of an oxidatively stable in acid media, non-noble metal, water splitting catalyst that allows an exceptionally high water oxidation photocurrent of 4.5 mA cm−2 at a (Na)WO3 photoanode to be achieved.
