The Effect of Chemiluminescence Immunoassay in the Detection of Treponema Pallidum Antibody

Objective To investigate the effect of chemiluminescence immunoassay in the detection of Treponema pallidum antibody in serum. Methods The serum of 160 cases of syphilis patients and 135 cases of non-syphilis patients was selected. And Treponema pallidum antibody in serum of the patients was detected by chemiluminescence immunoassay, RPR method, TPPA method, respectively. Results The sensitivity of the control group was 97.0%, 76.3% and 98.3%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity of RPR method were significantly lower than those of chemiluminescence immunoassay and TPPA method, the differences were statistically significant(P0.05); the difference between chemiluminescence immunoassay and TPPA method in sensitivity and specificity was not statistically significant(P0.05). Conclusion Luminescence immunoassay has higher sensitivity and specificity in the detection of syphilis, and it is a convenient and accurate detection method.
